Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold8 Series and New Watches as Foldable Pre-Orders Jump 30%

Samsung has officially launched its new Galaxy Z series and Galaxy Watch lineup, with sales beginning August 7 across 106 markets worldwide. The lineup includes Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, Flip8, Watch Ultra2 and Watch9, available through carriers, retailers, Samsung.com and Samsung Experience Stores. Pre-orders for the new devices rose more than 30% compared with the previous generation, with Graphite the top color for the Fold8 Ultra and Fold8, and Pink leading for the Flip8.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 introduces a new form factor with a wider cover screen for quick tasks and a 4:3 main display for immersive use, weighing just 201 g as Samsung's lightest Fold yet, built with new Flex Titanium technology for improved durability. The Z Fold8 Ultra extends Samsung's Ultra tier to foldables with an 8-inch main display, a 200 MP main camera now supporting HDR, a new 50 MP ultra-wide camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and 45W fast charging, while measuring just 4.1 mm unfolded. The Z Flip8 features a redesigned FlexWindow cover screen with AI-driven "Now Brief" updates and Gemini access via voice or side-key activation.

Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 run on the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform, with the Ultra2 built for outdoor endurance and the Watch9 designed as an everyday wellness companion with continuous health tracking. Buyers of the new Galaxy Z devices also receive a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, including 5 TB of cloud storage. Samsung is positioning the launch as an expansion of its broader AI ecosystem spanning phone and wrist.
